Why hindus touch their ears when in the temple?
This practice is part of a traditional Hindu gesture called "shankh" or "shankha prakshalana" where one touches various parts of their body such as their eyes, ears, and heart while reciting a specific mantra.
Touching the ears in Hindu temples is a gesture of respect and attentiveness towards the divine. It signifies a readiness to listen to the teachings and wisdom being imparted in the sacred space. This practice is a physical expression of humility and openness to receiving spiritual guidance.
This practice is also said to stimulate certain pressure points which are connected to various places in the body, thereby aiding a person's health and well-being.
